The History of Our Group
The Overton Arts Group began as an art class sponsored by the Pima County Parks and Recreation organization, located at the Overton fine art center in northwest Tucson, AZ. This art class was started about 18 years ago, and had a succession of teachers until about 5 years ago. After that, it has been an artists workshop with no instructor, however our members all help each other in their efforts in painting with oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and pencil.
Our membership has grown and now consists of 30 or so members. We meet at the Pima County Northwest Fine Art facility at the corner of  Shannon and Magee Roads every Monday from 9AM until noon.
We have exhibited our works of art many times at different venues in the Tucson area, including the Pima County Arts Council, local churches, and local schools.

Our Charter

We are a group of retired persons interested in exploring our creative spirit, and we welcome all like-minded persons who would like to join us each week, on Monday morning at 9AM. Pima County provides us with a space, and some easels, for a very nominal fee paid each time we attend our workshop.
Come and enjoy the fellowship of our group, and have some coffee or tea and cookies with us, and maybe also create something of beauty for yourself!
