Philly Please Takes
You've all heard of the famous Philly Cheese Steaks. I'd like to introduce you to another delight being offered by the Philadelphia
Free Library's Central Library: Please Takes. The Central Library has offered us thousands of publications from intergovernmental
organizations such as the UN, Unesco, FAO, World Bank, WHO, ILO, IMF, WTO, and others. I just returned from spending three
days at their library selecting material to replace flood losses. I identified approximately 650 linear feet of material (around
300 boxes) that will be transferred to us just as soon as I can do an Invitation for Bidders. The Central Library is only
too happy to get rid of the books, which were withdrawn several years ago and have been sitting in storage awaiting a taker.
Like many libraries, the Central Library is under pressure to weed its collections due to an impending renovation.
