Lori Horiuchi is in Hilo today, packing up folios (oversized documents) at UH Hilo Library. If time permits, she will
also get some of the most sought-after Foreign Broadcast Information Service microfiche.
We are almost finished opening all of the boxes containing documents that were treated at Belfor, Inc. We are still waiting
for the new freezer at Hamilton so that our Monthly Catalog of Government Publicatons volumes can be cleaned and we can use
them once again.
We have just received a major donation of World Health Organization documents from the Health Sciences Library at the
UH School of Medicine. We will soon finish processing all of the UN-related material we have received, so Carol Hasegawa can
begin ordering replacements for documents that we don't have.
The Map Collection is struggling to get started on foldering the thousands of maps that were cleaned at Belfor before
we get the next shipment. Map reference will resume on September 5; however, we do not expect to be making many appointments
with patrons because the materials that most people want haven't been cleaned yet.
