Yes, and a lot happened while I was gone, too. We welcomed flood recovery librarian Carol Hasegawa, who will handle some
of the collection development and cataloging chores as well as helping at the reference desk.
The ground floor design for Hamilton Library was approved, with a last-minute change introduced by the university librarian
-- the addition of a GIS lab.
We are still opening boxes of our documents that were dried at Belfor and adding their holdings to the online catalog.
We're also finishing up the boxes of documents from UH Hilo, which we've begun to add to the catalog as well.
Ross Togashi relocated from Archives to rooms on the third floor, where he and his student assistants will have more
processing space and be in closer proximity to both the map cases and Special Collections. We aim to resume public service
for maps on August 21 in the Special Collections Reading Room.
