On Wednesday, we were notified that the University needed to expend a large sum of flood recovery money, and we were
asked to create a list of materials to be ordered. We spent three days frantically trying to get quotes from vendors and determining
which big-ticket items we could order quickly.
The result? We are placing orders for the Congressional Serial Set online, UN databases, UN microfiche, federal microfiche,
digital aerial photographs of Hawaii, general reference maps, nautical charts, and UN specialized agency books. Processing
the material when it arrives will take a long time without extra help.
My friend Marilet Zablan at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service put together a collection of draft recovery plans and
other documents for us to replace those lost in the flood. Thanks, MAZ! I'll start processing them today.
