Hello and welcome. As a result of the September 11th terrorist attack on America, there has been a great increase of patriotism in our country. Probabaly one of the most evident and popular ways to demonstrate such patriotism is to display the American flag. But along with that comes a thing known as flag etiquette. After all, If we are going to show our patriotism, we should do it correctly. So I have created this site as a guide for that purpose as well as just a way to gain some important knowledge about our flag.

	Issues involving burning the flag. I think the most important rule of the flag is that it should NEVER be burned in public to make some kind of statement, be it political or any other reason. Instead, if one must use the flag in protest, it can be flown upside down, which is also a distress signal. However, when it is no longer fit for display it should be destroyed in a respectful way, preferably by burning.
