I remembered a couple of more things. One time I saw a really neat looking one runner sled in Popular Mechanics magazine so I built one. I didn't have all the stuff they used but I improvised. My sled turned out sort like a bicycle that you couldn't steer or balance, it was imposable to ride. I was about to throw it in the trash when Parker and Ap showed up with an idea. We'll tow behind the car... We tied a rope to the thing and to the rear bumper of the '40 ford Ap got on the sled me & Parker got in the coupe and we were off. Of course we had to stop every few feet to let Ap get back on. It wasn't long before Parker & I started BS'ing and forgot all about Ap and the sled. Miles later we remembered them and looked back only to see the sled bouncing along on it's side, Ap was nowhere in sight. When we turned around and drove back we found a very pissed off Ap trudging along in the snow.
Another time Parker was demonstrating the plowing of a dirt road with a car when we found ourselves stuck in a ditch. We went to the nearest farm and asked the farmer to pull us out with his tractor. He pulled us out but only after observing "judging from these tracks you had a really hard time getting in the ditch".
Parker had a friend that was almost as crazy as him. The friend (Clete Simon) had a "39 Ford coupe. It was their custom when meeting each other to swap lanes and whiz past each other in the wrong lanes. Well one day Parker spotted Clete coming and promptly swerved over in the other lane. At the last minute when he could see Clete wasn't moving he swerved back going by a saucer eyed lady driving a '39 Ford coupe just like Clete's.
And then the time Ap and Parker rented a small motorboat (outboard). Parker drove and if had known Parker you wouldn't be surprised to hear that they ended up up-side-down, They both were under the turned over boat. The motor was screaming it's little heart out because Ap was holding it out of the water. Parker was having a Shit hemorrhage "stop the motor stop the motor" So Ap dropped it in the water. That did the trick.... Ever see the inside of a motor that liquid locked from 19 million RPM?
