The North Georgia Highland Brigade
The North Geogia Highland Brigade, which meets in the Our Lady of the
Mountains Parish Hall every Monday, from 7-8:30 PM, is a non-profit organization formed for the purpose of preserving many
of the best traditions of Scotland. This is especially relevent in Geogia, inasmuch as the Scots were among the earliest
settlers of this state. Also, Georgia is the 3rd highest in terms of the number of citizens decended from the "Scots-Irish"
(the "Scots-Irish" are actually Scottish in origin, and not Irish). The Brigade, which consists of Bagpipers, Drummers,
Highland Dancers, and a Color Guard, performs at numerous functions throughout Georgia, both as a group, and as individuals.
The Brigade is always looking for new members to join its ranks. It is not necessary that one be of Scottish
descent to become a member, nor is prior experience required, because free instruction will be provided to anyone who is
serious enough to commit to performing with the group, once they have achieved a sufficient degree of mastery in
one, or more, of the Brigade's areas of concentration. Further details about the Brigade, including contact information,
can be found by selecting the link above.
