NEW CASSETTESSSSSS!

OLD GOLD INSTALABEL

limited edition double cdr

May of 1999. Eyedrum was still in its infancy, and Old Gold was marking its fifth year of bringing weird sounds to slightly wider audiences. To celebrate, we bought 50 six-minute-long cassettes and cases and put them in the old basement at 253 Trinity Avenue and let people go nuts with handheld tape recorders or duplicate something they recorded elsewhere. Then they could design their tape cover, name the project/band, and become part of a new label we tried to auction off at the end of the month. Turned out that nobody wanted it, so we kept it.

But this stuff can't be kept any longer. Available in January 2009 - almost a decade after it was created - the Insta-Label returns in the form of a best/worst of 2cdr compilation. There are 39 tracks from the 41 cassettes that were created (two of them were left blank). Take a trip down memory lane into a subterranean lifestyle that is legendary to those of us who vaguely remember it! Hear what Eyedrum sounded like in 1999! Marvel at the music going on! Cringe at the conversation and urination!

Only 10 copies of the set will be released to the general public for $15 each.
Each comes with two cdrs with around two hours of sounds, color photos of the tape covers (see attached), maybe a few other choice images from those daze, and a little writing about the whole deal by Marshall. So give a holler, paypal accepted or hook up with us sometime!
