Where was the largest log cabin in America built?

Who named himself after a notorious murderer?

Who has a special place in Pacific Frontier history because he befriended 7 orphaned children on the Oregon Trail?
Which American president sent a dead moose to France?

Gloria Baker is a free-lance writer/amateur historian working on a book about the Pacific Northwest, True Tales of the Pacific Frontier. Her articles have been published in newspapers and magazines. She wrote an historical calendar,  The Bullwhacker, that was given an award from Governor Victor Atiyeh for her contribution to the Oregon Pavilion during the 1986 World Exposition in Vancouver, B.C.  She is a musician, vocalist, and fabric artist.  If you would like to, you can read some of her published stories on pages that follow and a few excerpts from her book.

Her Favorites

Favorite Band or Musician: Any jazz band
Favorite movie: An American President
Favorite book: The Grapes of Wrath
Favorite food: Homemade ice cream

Her Hobbies

When not writing several hours each day, she spends more time than she should playing Free Cell and Scrabble on the computer. She is also an award winning quilter/quilt teacher. Her cat, Patsy Climb, insists upon sitting in Gloria's lap while she writes at the computer.  Perhaps Patsy believes that she is Gloria's muse.
