Gloria Baker is a free-lance writer/amateur historian working on a book about the Pacific Northwest, True Tales of
the Pacific Frontier. Her articles have been published in newspapers and magazines. She wrote an historical calendar,
The Bullwhacker, that was given an award from Governor Victor Atiyeh for her contribution to the Oregon Pavilion
during the 1986 World Exposition in Vancouver, B.C. She is a musician, vocalist, and fabric artist. If you

When not writing several hours each day, she spends more time than she should playing Free Cell and Scrabble
on the computer. She is also an award winning quilter/quilt teacher. Her cat, Patsy Climb, insists upon sitting
in Gloria's lap while she writes at the computer. Perhaps Patsy believes that she is Gloria's muse.
