"The song 'Detroit City' did in fact have a affect on all of us over there. Somebody in the club would " Yell Out Detroit City" and the band would play the song again. I've seen night's that they would play the song a least three times. Detroit City was a song or something we could connect us to our love ones back home like the song says. I can personally say this because I was over there at Dang from Dec 1970 to Jan 1971. I Think back now and it brings tears to my eyes."
