The Game of Triangles

Liner Notes by Cy Coben
"Every triangle has three sides, it's true..." is the opening line of my song The Game of Triangles. I guess that line could be changed to "every songwriter has three dreams, it's true..." and for this songwriter those three dreams would be: 1) Bobby Bare, 2) Norma Jean, and 3) Liz Anderson - all on one record and singing his song! To match the great performing talents of these three, add the combined producing greatness of Chet Atkins, Bob Ferguson and Felton Jarvis, and it's the dream of many years of writing country music come true. Have the record become a hit, and it's the culmination of a career! All this happened to me. And I'm happy to say it hasn't stopped there. Now you can enjoy more of the great sound of Bobby, Norma Jean and Liz and their combined talents, for RCA Victor and the boys of Studio A - Chet, Bob and Felton - have called the "Triangle Gang" together again for this album of more of the same. Besides The Game of Triangles and Bye, Bye, Love, new cuts involved are Three Mixed Up Hearts, One Among the Three of Us and Which One Is to Blame? They're just great, and I can say that because> I didn't write them. There are also some fine individual performances here by Bobby, Norma Jean and Liz, just to remind you that they do all right as solo artists, too. In closing let me say that, in this writer's opinion, it's only in the field of country music that a song as realistic as The Game of Triangles can find acceptance. Country music fans see life as it really is ... no wonder I love 'em!!!
