A Bird Named Yesterday

RCA LSP-3831

Album cover 'A Bird Named Yesterday

Liner Notes by Cy Coben

You may think that this is a record album you're holding but it's not.
It's a time machine.
A time machine that goes in only one direction - back to the past. Everyone has some nostalgic moment he would like to relive, and here's the vehicle for the trip - this album.

And, your guide down this pathway of nostalgia is 'A Bird Named Yesterday'. He's a bird who has flown out of all our lives, but who is captured forever in the beautiful, sentimental and memory-stirring songs and stories as performed here by Bobby Bare. He's a poet, Bobby is, and so is Jack Clement who conceived and wrote most of this. And from these two sensitive people comes this unique work - no, not a work... a mood - a collection of yesterdays that will jog the hearts of everyone in some way, be you city or country bred.

'The Air Conditioner Song' is the one that got to me, and I'm sure you'll find the magic carpet for your sentimental journey here, too. For although we all come from different backgrounds, the ingredients that make up your youthful memories are pretty much the same. And so if just one moment from your past is born again through this album wasn't it worth the price?
