This includes the lines of:
John Ham - Died about 1779 in Rowan County (current day Iredell Co., NC.). His line includes son John who had sons John & William. Land on Hunting Creek. I have not been able to "fit" him in anywhere. His descendants stayed in the Iredell Co., NC area, around current day Statesville, NC. He may have come from Ireland???
Jacob Ham - Arrived in Rowan County about 1759 from Germany. This Jacob died in NC in 1778. Sons were Jacob Ham II (married Barbara) Andress Ham & Christian Ham (md. Elizabeth Motzinger).. These Hams sold all their land here in about 1790 and later appear in Indiana & Mulenberg, Ky. Melcher /Malliachi Ham is from this line, probable a son of Jacob II.
Phillip Ham - of Caroline Co., Va. which leads to research on the Va. Hams. Also research on the Saunders and Hubbards. His descendants left NC and went to Indiana.
Thomas Ham of Stokes County (and other early sightings in NC). I find 3 references to this Thomas Ham in early NC records.
Mordica Ham, REV. WAR Vet. - My line. Which also includes research on Thomas Raper & wife 'Patty'(Martha), Jane Fountain wife of Stephen Fountain and the Marshalls. There is much inter-marrying between these folks. Jane Fountain is somehow related to Mordica... but haven't been able to figure out how. Thomas Raper was Mordica Ham's stepfather... but does that mean Patty was his mother? I have run into a dead end so far on Thomas Raper before he appears in Rowan County. There are other Rapers in this area about that same time but he doesn't appear to be related to them. People researching the Rapers don't know where he "fits" either.
Joseph Ham who married Seth. Stokes Co., NC. I've done a lot of research on these folks... just because the information was there.(It's fun!). Of course Joseph also leads back to Va. and the Stantons, although I haven't seen anything to convince me that Seth was a Stanton.
And last but not least there is John Ham from Caroline County, Va. enlisted in the REV WAR in Chatham Co., NC, who went to Logan County, Ky. I have nothing on him or his family in Ky.
