| Welcome
Wanderers of the Waves to this Webstead! I am Óðindís, maker of these harrows and magical tools, and visitor of these holy places. One of my most beloved pursuits is to create sacred space and magical objects. I believe these objects are spiritual beings, and have chosen to become my allies. The elements of my creations come to me, and tell me what they want to become. I facilitate this, and they help me in their own ways. I also believe in the spirits of places, and that there are some locales on Earth that act as vortexes for subtle energies. These are power sites, holy steads. To honour the Land Wights (spirits) that inhabit these places I sometimes build shrines to them. Some are complex and permanent, some are simple and temporary, but all are made of natural materials that are in harmony with the environment. Shrines can infinitely enhance one's life and dwelling place. They are vortexes that draw in those energies that are in harmony with them. If created with love, proper intention, and inspiration, a harrow (altar) will powerfully call to the Gods and good wights. A shrine is a three dimensional mandala that is an expression of nascent spiritual realities in the manifest world. Visualising a shrine, and then shaping it in this world is mighty transformative magic. The harrow becomes a consciously created conduit for spiritual forces to blossom forth upon Earth. An altar is also a visual reminder of one's Soul, and of spiritual alignments to Deities, animal totems, and other spirit-helpers. The images and objects on a harrow become keys to the deepest levels of the self. Here you may visit some shrines dedicated to the Gods and Goddesses of the North, as well as natural holy sites where offerings to the Land Wights and Ancestors are made. Many kinds of shrines are presented here, from formal indoor "stalls" to almost invisible temporary shrines in secret wild places. A collection of magical tools is also to be found here, all based upon the northern tradition and personal inspiration. |
