Feeling a cool breeze play across
his face, he looks up.
Sensing some tension in the room,
he looks around.
Returning his gaze to the screen,
he looks disturbed.
Shutting off the computer, he walks
to the dark bedroom.
Sliding between the linen sheets,
he feels the chill.
Was it something he said?
Getting up, he stumbles back to
the computer.
The darkness settles around him
Was that the door closing?
Was that someone talking to him?
Was there something that he was
supposed to be doing?
Was there someone that he was supposed
to meet?
Where was she?
Or worse yet, was it something
he hadn’t?
Would there be someone who cares?
as he weeps, realizing
he is alone.
