The Lakeside neighborhood thrives on the west side of Lake Merritt. In the early 1980s the city named its boundaries as 14th Street, Harrison Street, and Lake Merritt.

Within the neighborhood is the historic Lakeside Apartment District.

Another city-designated historic district intersecting with our neighborhood is the Lake Merritt District.

Our neighborhood also hosts a number of structures that are Designated Historic Properties.
