I have a little tiny plaque on my desk at work that reads - Dream not of yesterday, but of tomorrow. Somebody I used to work with gave it to me when I was leaving. It was a very thoughtful gift. I also have another tiny plaque in my kitchen that was given to me on my birthday when I was a junior in High School by the secretaries in the front office. It says - The journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step . Both of these bring to my mind a picture of someone not looking back...

I must admit that I sometimes cling quite tenaciously to the past. Other times it's more like a haunting than due to any effort on my part.

"I mean," she said, "that one can't help growing older."
"One can't perhaps," said Humpty Dumpty, "but two can. With proper assistance, you might have left off at seven."
- Lewis Carroll, Alice Through The Looking Glass

I have been feeling rather reclusive again lately. This will not be for the next few days however, because my best friends are coming for a visit on Thursday. We are all going to Six Flags/Great America to spend the day on Friday. I am looking very forward to that.

I continue to have mixed feelings about moving. I will miss this place I've called home for the last few years. Sometimes I can picture myself in my new digs & it's a positive image in my mind. Sometimes I just see what won't be anymore.

I have decided to create a page of lists. The reason for this is pretty simple. It's a good way to share what I like & what I value in a concise format. So, if you're interested in seeing what kind of movies and music I like...watch for my lists page. I also want to add response box of some kind and a list page is probably a good spot for that - although if you send an eMail to me - I will write back.
