tom movie review time!:
alright I've been spending excessive time watching movies in the past week and it has nothing to do with the fact that i've started working at the movie theater again because only one of them was an actual theater movie. heres what i've watched in the past week:
war of the worlds
Good, yeah it's good. Was there ever any doubt? The ending sucked though. I mean it was kind of contrived, don't you think? I mean that movie didn't seem like it was winding down toward a happy ending, it was kind of like a downward spiral of hopelessness and then all a sudden everything's fine again. you know, minus the billion people dead. oh well

I downloaded this, its an alright flick. again, not as good as I expected, usually these 3d rendered cartoon flicks are really awesome and funny and whatnot. one thing I loved in this movie was the art direction: definately leaning more toward a cartoony look than some of the other movies, such as shrek, which was rendered somewhat realistically. this movie's colorful and happy etc. the penguins are fucking the coolest thing and reason enough to see this
napolean dynamite
I saw this once before but I think I laughed a lot harder the second time. good movie. even my dad liked it.
shaun of the dead
hmm.. they somehow made a horror comedy work without it being just rediculous. the britishness probably helped with that. I liked it. its not groundbreaking or anything but its an different kind of zombie movie.. and i do love them zombie movies. the ending in this movie's great.
motorcycle diaries
this one's all in subtitles which pissed off my parents because they hate that shit.. and i picked it out for family sunday night viewing. whoops! anyway it was good but i was tired and not paying attention to the subtitles a lot of the time so i probably missed a bunch of the plot. eh! lepers are scary
boondock saints
i hated this movie when i first saw it, but last night i was intently paying attention for some reason, probably because i was wasted and tired. and willum duhfow.
assault on precinct whatever
eh not bad. some weird stuff. you think the guys gonna get the girl at the end like EVERY FUCKING MOVIE EVER but no, they switch it up and kill her off. weird. and the badguy gets away. this isnt normal mainstream hollywood plot. but everything else is.
