one of those movies.

today: garden state.
I have to say, it was good. it wasn't quite as fucked up as the beginning indicated it might be. it started out as one of those grungy drug movies and ended like a light summer teen romance film. strange. lots of half-developed characters and little subplots.. its almost as if they cut out entire large portions out of the film. it would've just made it for me if natalie portman or 'sam' as she is called in the movie was just like 'we must dooo something chancelor'. yea her character freaked me out a bit, probably because i've known pathalogical liars and they just freak me out.
what the fuck. most precious blood does a cover of sweet child o mine?
ebay:
i won a boxed set of 24 season 3 for $12.50. but the shipping was another $12 so it came out to $24.50. go figure. but its like this version that came out in asia so i'm a bit skeptical.. i just hope it's got all the episodes. a valid concern, right? its got english and dolby surround and stuff so that's hawt.
thinking of getting one a 'skin' for my xbox since a) theres 2 of them in the house and we get them mixed up (well i don't but others do, as if its such a big deal to tell them apart) and b) they look pretty cool. i mean why get it, really. i mean i really should spend money on clothes for myself before i could justify spending $ on decorations for my xbox. or maybe a haircut. or something, i'm just rediculous.

oh yeah if anyone who matters reads this, is there anything fucking going on tomorrow? new years? because i dont wanna be like bored off my ass watching the ball drop, i wanna be ya know, partying somewhere. doesnt really matter with who. if you know of a party, let me know. although i've been to plenty of sketchy-ass new years parties in my day and thought i was going to die last year. but it was fun for a while.

you've got questions

this is it.
being friends with people who are actually concious, intelligent people pisses me off (but in a good way, let me make my point). having experiences with people outside of a tiny bubble of a tiny town in connecticut has been like, whoa, not everyone is the same after all. not eveyone belongs to a happy family in the suburbs and goes to college and gets a desk job and starts a family and lives out their boring life. my parents never told me this, they never told me this in school, they never told me this on tv, its just something you find out eventually.
so skip fast-forward to the present.. i've always considered myself fairly smart albiet perhaps sheltered. ignorance is bliss baby. ignorance is america's defining trait nowadays.. it seems like i've been realizing more and more what really, really matters and what doesn't. the world we live in is dynamic: you can't live in it without affecting it or being affected by it just the same. take me for example: i constantly wonder what ramifications my presence in the world will bring upon others.. my writing this for example. why do i do what i do.. but more importantly, what will others do in response to what I am doing right now. will this sentence be read? or skimmed over because someone was like "oh, not worth reading that right now".
what about the waste we create as a nation.. where does all that go? and i mean where does it really go? so like.. waste comes from products which come from resources.. the resources can't last forever. theoretically all waste should be turned into new resources for us to be able to continue functioning. the population is growing. the resources are shrinking. the waste is growing. the energy is depleting. the sun won't burn forever. it might burn longer than you or i live. it migh burn longer than our children or their children live. but eventually someone's gonna have to deal with that sun exploding. i mean it's going to happen, science has told us this. do we believe science? well i suppose you can't believe everything science says but then again you have to believe some of it. '
so thank you guys, my friends who make me ask the hard questions (you know who you are). i haven't answered them yet, and i may never but at least i know that these questions exist. ignorance may be bliss but intelligence has its own rewards.

i know what i said
so i'm totally not going to bury your dead tonight because its snowing, noone else is gonna go, and its $15. and it started at 6 meaning its already half over and therefore not worth all that money. besides i'm hanging out with kevin later on tonight. so at least i'm doing something. just wanted to make that clear. i was sort of excited about it and whatnot but whatever.
last night was way fun, thanks to everyone that made it happen. anyway i had a lot of fun, i dont know about everyone else. there was a midget present (basically) so that was funny, gitamba came, there was a (insert adjective here) card game, i ended up passing out with my coat on but at least my socks were off. i'll call it an uncle josh farewell party.

philosophy is such a stoner subject.
so it turns out my philosophy exam really is at 6:00 at night rather than.. like right now like i thought. what this means to me is that I now have a few extra hours to study for it, but i'm going to squander them by updating my blog and generally managing my time poorly.

I'm really excited about the Bury Your Dead show tomorrow at empress. empress never gets good shows so I'll be damned if I'm going to not go to this one, even if noone wants to go with me. but if you do want to go with me, please let me know. it supposedly starts at 6 but i generally dont care about shit openers even if they're decent. I haven't gone to any serious hardcore shows in a while and as much as i hate the scene/danbury/empress/people I think I'd participate more in the pit antics and the singalongs the less people I actually know there. strangely enough. but if you're going to a scenester show you've always got to dress to impress or automatically be hated. and it's tough enough to make friends with strangers in this day and age as it is.
going back home tomorrow means lots of things. it means moving large amounts of stuff back to my house, it means either a) feeling worthless or b) getting a job or c) going back to my old job, none of which are like cool with me. i'd rather just work on my music for the whole break uninhibited but that never actually happens when i go home.
parties/get togethers might actually happen though because everyone i know seems to want to hang out with other peoples at some point over break. as for tonight, it's going to be me, josh, carrie brian and gitamba partyin up here at uconn for the final night of the semester (if you can really call it that.. the final night for most people was long long ago..)
christmas is around the corner yes, meaning hopefully a DAC for MEE. for those technologically unsavvy: DAC = Digital Audio Player. an example of one being the apple iPod. so if i get anything like that, its going to be superb. which reminds me I have to buy gifts for people, sell my books back, and do a bunch of other stuff before I leave tomorrow.. damn i should do that soon.

shup
today: friday. a day of band practice, pizza, party fun and dp dough. i have to cut back on the amount of italian food i consume. tomorrow is saturday the day of my last final. most everyone has evacuated uconn or at least is leaving tomorrow. sadly enough i'll be here until sunday but i'll definately find ways to occupy my time tomrorrow.. just like i did tonight. much godspeed you has been listened to by my in the past 24 hours.. trippy shit. as for ongoing love, go to nukage.com to see my 2 new trax... you love you love.
katie carrie's roommate always has the most bizarre backgrounds on her computer so i always take the liberty of giving her even more bizarre ones.
nuff said.
as for the rest, i really want one of them damn hard drive mp3 players. i'm totally getting one with my chirstmas/working over break/still saved up from summer/birthday/sold back book/etc money. nomad zen's are like $200 for a 40 gig player.. geezus shit. and apparently they have better sound quality than the ipod.. what the hells with the whole ipod craze anyway. so it's white.. big deal. fuck you.
i've found myself using shareaza quite a bit lately. gnutella2 is used by quite a lot of clients and being able to tap into it quickly is pretty cool.. its got a really sweet looking interface too and its skinnable if you're into that.
as for everything else... tomorrow i'm insituting the party law. everyone must have fun if you're still around. come on people smile on your brothers.. haha. now i'm gonna try to go to sleep whilist listening to godspeed you.. i have the whole room to myself for once!! AHHH (come on down ladeeez)

christmas list!
Ok since this is my fucking site and i can do what i want with it, for the rest of the month it shall double as my christmas list. it also could be called a 'to buy while on vacation' list if i don't see this stuff under the tree. the first item i've added is this:
EURORACK UB1002 : Ultra Low-Noise Design 10-Input 2-Bus Mic/Line Mixer with Premium Mic Preamplifiers

10 inputs is probably way more than I need since there isnt much actual hardware in my studio other than my line6 pod and my mic. nevertheless, mixers are important in general and having one will only make me that much more awesome. and these things are pretty cheap anyway. but theoretically, in case i ever want to record a live band this thing would be awesome for that purpose.. and because of that, i want one with 2 mic inputs. i use http://www.froogle.com for all my price searching needs. as well as ebay. this will enable me to actually record with that mic my parents got me LAST chrismas.
Seymour Duncan SHR1 Hot Rails FREE SHIPPING

the prices have dropped.. buy buy now! white neck/middle please!
Pod 2.0 Upgrade

I'm pretty sure this thing is just like a chip and a cd, but i'll upgrade my pod to the regular $200 pod 2.0.. awesome. even more tones means even more fun + even better music.
I-River h320 hard drive mp3 player

this thing is like an ipod but cheaper, AND:
-color screen (unlike ipod)
-can display photos/jpegs/whatever (unlike ipod)
-can play mp3/wma/ogg so thats way more than the ipod
-can put anything on it, its just like a usb hdd(unlike ipod)
-holds same amount of music as an ipod
-similar size/ weight
-it's not the mainstream, so it must be cooler.
24 season three

I HEART THIS SHOW!! and i didnt see any of season 3 because.. well i dunno i probably was doing something better than watching tv. besides, this show is best watched in dvd format. i might just rent this and copy it though, its so much cheaper.
what not to get me:
-clothes (ill buy those myself thank you)
-software (uhh i have the dc++ hub, duh!)
-music/dvds/movies/video games (read above)
-gift certificates for places that aren't in danbury (best buy, media play, sams music, etc)
-cheap electronics you got just because it was cheap and looked sorta cool or whatever.
-books you read and you loved it so much that you say you just "had to buy it for you!"
stuff i will apreciate:
-gift certificates to places i do go: i.e. circuit city, borders perhaps, online gift cirtificates, gift cirtificates to the danbury fair mall
-money
-anything already mentioned on this list
-webhosting if you have 'the hookup' (ignore this if you dont know what im talking about)
-while i'm on the subject of stuff i need, i might as well just say 'a car'
the only reason i'm doing this is because last year and the year before i got stuff i didnt need/use because i never told anyone what i wanted because i couldnt think of anything off the top of my head whenever they asked (although i think i got socks and underwear which i needed yet would never think to buy myself). so there. my grandma had the right idea by already giving me money to buy myself a present with. but i do like suprises, so thats somehow less exciting. it's probably going to go toward 'the essentials' if you know what i mean.

pic i did a few weeks ago, scanned the other day, it's up on my art section of nukage.com.
i remixed 2 songs today, I'll have those uploaded at some point... tonight was one of the least evenful tuesday nights in recent times. what was everyone? geez.
my keyboard is way fun to make weird noises with, and i had some fun with today but i'm too tired to do anything with that right now. plus i have a stats test thursday. so damn. everyone over in this plizace is going to sleep.
