Welcome to the

Pat Klobas Home Page

I play the double bass and live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I grew up in Beaverton, Oregon, and began playing electric bass in a band with my brother and my best friend when I was ten years old. I got a Masters Degree in music from the San Francisco Conservatory, and I am the Alumni Class President there. I perform with several regional orchestras: the Oakland East Bay Symphony, the Skywalker Symphony and the California Symphony. Every fall, I tour the United States with the Western Opera Theater. I appear every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night in the Redwood Room of the Clift Hotel with pianist Michael Udelson, with whom I have been working for 9 years. On Mondays you can usualy find me at Stars Restaurant with pianist Michael Udelson, and Wednesdays I am often at Stars with pianist Gini Wilson. I have performed with Rosemary Clooney, Stevie Wonder, Linda Rondstadt, and the National Jazz Philharmonic. Just recently I helped form a most unusual ensemble of five basses with master bassist and author Barry Green. We're called "The Bay Bass Band." I enjoy tasting premium wines with my friends.
