Chi Kung (pronounced 'chee gung') is the powerful Chinese art of internal energy mastery practiced by Chinese monks and
martial artists for thousands of years. Many health benefits have been ascribed to it. It has been said to cure various intractable
diseases, and was featured on Bill Moyers' "Healing And The Mind". Martial artists practice it in order to deepen their
command over their internal energies, but laypeople practice it for the calming, healthful energy it gives them. There are many
forms and styles of Chi Kung.
Wild Goose Chi Kung is a single fluid sequence of graceful movements that lasts about six or seven minutes. The practice was handed down from the Kun Lun school of Taoism, and traces its ancestry to the Jin Dynasty about one thousand years ago. The movements, modeled after the movements of a wild goose (known as birds of longevity in China), stimulate the principal energy channels ("meridians") and acupuncture points of the body, which accounts for its dramatic healing effect on disorders of the nervous system, cardiovascular system, respiratory, urinary and digestive systems. Regular practice is said to prevent and even possibly cure many intractable diseases, including cancer.
Wild Goose Chi Kung is relaxing and enjoyable. Its movements are easy to master and are not physically demanding. It is suitable for young and old alike. It is one of the best forms of Chi Kung taught in China today, and is practiced by millions.
