Nancy Turner-Smith
My work begins with drawings in pencil, ink, watercolor and pastel. These drawings of plants, reflections, water, pollen, birds and animals are drawn in the field and in the studio. The drawings are then digitally scanned. Scanning produces a transformation of the image from a classical drawing into the world of digital drawing. These transformed images are than combined and manipulated with Adobe Photoshop to create new images and compositions. The original works that result are printed in the studio with pigment ink on archival digital paper in signed limited editions.
