American Cancer Society (Hospice Care Pages)
Part of the American Cancer Society web site, this section describes hospice
-- the provision of humane and compassionate care for people in the last phases of incurable disease so that they may live
as fully and comfortably as possible.
California Coalition for Compassionate Care
The coalition is a statewide partnership of over 50 regional and statewide
organizations dedicated to the advancement of palliative medicine and end-of-life care in California.
Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC)
CAPC is dedicated to increasing the availability of quality palliative care services in hospitals
and other health care settings for people with life-threatening illnesses, their families, and caregivers. A national
initiative supported by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, with direction and technical assistance provided by the Mount
Sinai School of Medicine (NY), CAPC provides health care professionals with the tools, training, and technical assistance
necessary to start and sustain successful palliative care programs in hospitals and other health care settings.
National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO)
The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) is the
largest nonprofit membership organization representing hospice and palliative care programs and professionals in the United
States. The organization is committed to improving end of life care and expanding access to hospice care with the goal of
profoundly enhancing quality of life for people dying in America and their loved ones. (Formerly the National Hospice Organization)
Population-Based Palliative Care Research Network (PopCORN)
Population-Based Palliative Care Research Network (PopCORN) is based at
the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. The organization is committed to enhancing the care
of persons at the end of life and their families through the conduct and dissemination of high-quality research in palliative
care settings.
The Veterans Administration Nationwide Palliative Care Network
This site is a communication network for VA providers involved in hospice
and palliative care. The goal is to create a community of caring and committed VA employees, who will enable us
to advance the field of hospice and palliative care within the VA system and, ultimately improve the quality of care we provide
to dying veterans.
