Alliance of State Pain Initiatives

The Alliance of State Pain Initiatives is a national network of state-based Pain Initiatives, one of which is the Northern California Pain Initiative. Links to the other state initiatives are at http://www.aspi.wisc.edu/state.htm

American Cancer Society (Pain Pages)

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

American Chronic Pain Association

The mission of the American Chronic Pain Association is to facilitate peer support and education for individuals with chronic pain and their families so that these individuals may live more fully in spite of their pain; and to raise awareness among the health care community, policymakers, and the public at large about issues of living with chronic pain.

American Pain Society

The American Pain Society is dedicated to the care of patients with pain. The society's goals in this activity are to advance the treatment of people in pain by ensuring access to treatment, removing regulatory barriers, and educating practitioners and policy makers in all settings about advances and economics of effective pain treatment.

Southern Pain Society

American Pain Foundation

The American Pain Foundation is an independent, nonprofit [501(c)3] organization serving people with pain through information, advocacy, and support. The Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life of people with pain by raising public awareness, providing practical information, promoting research, and advocating to remove barriers and increase access to effective pain management.

International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP)

IASP is the largest multidisciplinary international  association in the field of pain. Founded in 1973, IASP is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to furthering research on pain and improving the care of patients with pain.

The John C. Liebeskind History of Pain Collection / The UCLA History of Pain Project

A project to promote and ensure the study of the history of pain research and pain therapy in the post-World War II era, in particular, the origins, growth, and development of the international, interdisciplinary pain field.

PainEDU

PainEDU is a comprehensive educational website for clinicians, teaching about pain assessment and management.  The site, as described by an American Pain Society review, "...presents a wealth of current pain-related information, pain resources, and internet links".

Partners Against Pain

Partners Against Pain, a project of Purdue Pharma, LP, is an alliance of patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers working together to alleviate unnecessary suffering by their efforts to advance standards of pain care through education and advocacy.

Southern California Cancer Pain Initiative (SCCPI)

Founded in 1993, the Southern California Cancer Pain Initiative (SCCPI) is a nonprofit volunteer interdisciplinary organization made up of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers and many other professionals dedicated to the relief of cancer pain. SCCPI works closely with other professional and regulatory agencies to remove barriers to optimum pain relief.
