While reading several of Bookworm Room's Posts, I noticed one commenter named Sadie posted a short little Haiku about Obama. So, I thought that I would give it a shot. The cadence is all wrong, but I had fun doing it!
Obama Haiku
Not exactly a Haiku, I hope this poem will do.
"Bush is the maddest, Cheney's the baddest,
But Obama is thrilling," said the Media shrilling.
Now woman all fainted, because He is sainted.
But please do not laugh, for this is not hagiograph.
Barrack's his name, blaming other's his game.
Under the bus they all went, with him nary a dent,
But I'll not lament, for He is heaven sent.
With "Hope and Change," all will rearrange.
Is this powder-puff, playing Blind Man's bluff?
Alas, the economy's tragic, for it's all hemorrhagic.
Looking for a job, just me and the mob.
My money's all gone, but I'm not put upon.
For the banks he controlleth, while the cars he just stoleth.
Bondholders he mugged, for he's quite the thug!
"Spreading the wealth, is good for your health."
To Joe the Plumber, he said with stealth.
Our debts are amounting, while we're still counting!
And if you dislike, then take a hike!
Of his cabinet posts, there are many boasts:
"Paying taxes you see, is not for me!"
On foreign affairs, he puts on airs,
That are not only feckless, but really quite reckless!
Hussein slapped the Union-Jack, with quite a thwack!
But said to be calm, about Islam.
So he bowed his head low,
Are they now all aglow?
Humph! We're still Jezebel, the infidel.
Is this Hope and Change? Oh my, how strange!
In the end you'll see, he'll turn out to be:
Just Barry; shifty and scary.
So, are we now sunk, with just such a skunk?
Or, because I'm a Yankee, you think I'm all cranky?
Don't blame me I will say, I voted for Tina Fay!
Now here's my prediction, in 2012 there'll be an eviction.
