Age 6:
first day in school
First day in school was a harsh disappointment: I discovered that my parents and I had the wrong religion... The kids
wouldn't want to be close to me. I didn't belong. The trees and animals remained my intimate friends. I envied the birds.

Age 12
Beyond the forest must be the world. Our forestry was surrounded by a few acres of farmland. Besides with up to 17 horses
we lived with every possible species of native animals. There was little time for play. At age 14 I left home and went to
live in Landerziehungsheim Marienau, a nearby boarding school. Here wise teachers supported me in following my quest.

Age 14
After plowing this field I hitchhiked to Italy for eight weeks and spend a month at Saint Francis's place in Monte Subasio,
Assisi. I was so in love with him.
Next year I escaped school again and hitchhiking explored Greece and Krete, taking my first flight in an airplane. The
year after that I was sent to a boarding school in England, to prevent me from traveling on my own again. I ended up hitchhiking
a lot in England too. After all, I needed to visit Findhorn in Scotland..

Age 18
End of school. Feeling so sad. The learning wasn't finished: who is here? Who am I? What is life? Does death really exist?
