Let me tell you where I am from first. I am from Germany, a place called "Muensingen" which is amongst the Swabian Alb in the State of Baden-Württemberg.  The elevation is 600-864 meters above sea level. The Alb is a chain of mountains which runs through Southern Germany from the Rhine between Schaffhausen and Lake Constance to the Upper Main like a kind of backbone. The part which lies in the Swabian area is the continuation of the Swiss Jura and runs 220 kilometers to the basin of the Ries crater near Noerdlingen. The Alb mountains themselves are made up of the Brown Jura, which forms the hilly area in front of the Alb, and the limestone of the White Jura which forms the steep slope and the Karst mountain plateau.
