I have written an essay, illustrated with over 20 Light paintings - "Lifting the Blindfold; Voices of the Seeing With Photography Collective"- This 67 page document details the growth of our group, provides interviews with many of us involved, and relates my own experiences making art. Hopefully it addresses a need for a more penetrating exploration of who we are, and the dynamics involved. Please send your request to the email address below, cygnus07@gmail.com , and I will send it along. This PDF document is 10.5 MB. Adobe Reader 7 now has the "Read Out Loud" feature, letting sight impaired and blind people access the essay.

"Shooting Blind", published by Aperture, 2002 was the first major presentation of our work to a wider public.

"Going through tunnels of black, velvety ink-like shadows, the light comes toward us from behind. It could be dim, or very bright. It emerges in small patches and coalesces. It chooses to become a face, then many: we recognize the plane of a cheek, the curve of a lip...light binds another face in circles. It creates a hurried, electric all -over calligraphy. It dances...they are true visionaries, casting their net deep into the unknown." -PixelPress, Carole Naggar

Early members of our Collective who had their images published in Shooting Blind were, besides myself, Mark Andres, Esmin Chen, Stephen Dominguez, Victorine Floyd Fludd, John Gardner, Rosanne Kahn, Morty King, Arthur Krieck, Peter Lui and Alfredo Quintero. Since 2002, new artists have joined, Florence Baney, Jessica Jones, Anja Ligtenberg, Donald Martinez, Frederick Minor (Lord Frederick XIII-XIII), Ben Paige and Sonia Soberats. Marixza Hernandez Alan Key,Irwin R.Satyam Roocoober, Henry Pride ,Marion Sheppard and Ann Watson are our newest members..
