Guanajuato is a facinating old city, a resident told me a streetmap of the city was like a plate
of spagatti. Damp tunnels occupy a large part, carrying cars under the old city to the high mountains which ring it like the
rugged and loftier parts of a huge bowl or crater.
I visited there this summer, staying with some American friends who renovated a very old
home there. A spare bedroom was put to use as my studio. There were stone columns, crafted iron -work,sculpture and bas reliefs,
Mexican wood-work and walls of crafted tiles to revel in. and I shot 3 rolls of light paintings. Still havent developed the
last roll yet tho. My thanks to Manuel Guerra for his excellent assistance. Next summer I'll plan on returning and finishing
some ideas I have.
The "Sight Unseen" exhibit in Californiais, is now planning to travel to Mexico City, Washington
D.C and Holland too.
