I offer some small group homeschool classes. These would meet one or two times per week. Groups would be formed based on topics
and developmental levels. I've listed some ideas I've had below. I'd be interested in your feedback in these as well as other
ideas.
Math Concepts and Skills Groups Multi-session classes designed to teach and reinforce math facts and concepts. Math games, hands-on mathematical explorations, and problem-solving tasks could be included. Literature and Writer's Groups These groups would involve children in a literature study or in writing together with peers. They could also provide instruction in researching and presenting topics of interest. Hands-On Science Classes These multi-session classes are based on children's natural curiosity about nature and the world around them. Active learning experiences exploring God's creation are organized around a theme. History Groups The study of history through literature, primary documents, simulations, etc. helps students understand people and places of the past. It also helps students see the consequences of choices made by individuals and groups and the importance of their own decisions. Biblical Principal Approach Explore the Biblical Principal Approach, an approach which places the principles of God's Word at the center of education. Morning Meetings "Morning Meeting" provides a chance to develop social skills and friendships within a small group with greetings, sharing, and activities. |
