| The major newspapers, the Jewish newspapers, the Yiddish
newspapers and the neighborhood newspapers, all contain information of
interest to Jewish researchers. Project link will help you to search for newspapers for California and to find the library in which they are archived.
One of the most useful Jewish newspapers for research on the Los Angeles Jewish community is the B’nai B’rith Messenger, published from 1898 through 1995. It became the L.A. Jewish Times in 1996. Copies and microfilmed copies are available at Hebrew Union College, the Rosemead branch of the L.A. County Library system, UCLA, the Jewish Community Library and at the Magnes Museum in San Francisco. Jewish Newpapers currently published in Southern California
