National Hispanic Medical Association Fifth Annual Conference
“Healthy Hispanic Families”

March 23-25, 2001

Join Hispanic physicians, medical students, policymakers, and healthcare industry representatives at our annual conference. This year, NHMA brings together experts from across the nation to share their recommendations to build healthy Hispanic families.

Hispanics have become the largest ethnic group in the United States and there is a great need to understand how to deliver culturally relevant health care services to them.  Learn from experts on how to enhance academic programs, community-based programs, medical practices, and health policies targeting Hispanics.

Conference Objectives:

To provide clinical updates for families on diabetes, cancer, HIV/AIDs, and cardiovascular disease
To increase awareness about cultural competence and medical care delivery to Hispanics
To increase knowledge about new Federal and State health policies that impact Hispanics
To develop skills for careers in academic medicine, research, and government
To make recommendations for future activities of organized medicine regarding Hispanic health
