#1. Myth - Hypnosis is sleep...
Hypnosis is the opposite of sleep. While you're in trance, not only are you fully awake but exceptionally alert, attentive
and responsive. The calm feeling of the trance state is deceptive; in reality, the mind is focused and ready for what comes
next. The trance state provides a high incidence of alpha activity, reavealing that the brain is resting yet alert.
#2. Myth - Hypnosis is projected onto the individual...
The Hypnotist projects no kind of force or magic. All she does is tap the natural capacity that people have to experience
trance. It is sufficient for the hypnotist to open the door, so to speak, so that the subject can step through on his own.
The beauty of Hypnosis is that it is a process to gain self-control and personal freedom.
#3. Myth - "I cannot be hypnotized..."
Hypnosis/trance is a natural occurance in everyday life. If you have ever day-dreamed, lost yourself in a movie or a book,
experienced highway amnesia - you were hypnotized. The level of the trance you can achieve in session depends on your openess,
trust in the practitioner, ability to let go and relax. You will go as deep into trance as is comfortable for you.
#4. Myth - Hypnosis is dangerous...
There is nothing dangerous about Hypnosis. You will never accept any idea or suggestion that is opposed to your morality,
personality, or will.
#5. Myth - "Women are more hypnotizable than men..."
The sexes are the same in their trance capacity.
#6. Myth - "I will reveal and say things that are private"...
With a reputable and sensitive practitioner, you will be guided only to what is safe and comfortable for you to experience.
In fact, in most of my sessions I do all of the talking!
