About NEW FOUNDATIONS

WHAT DO OUR PROGRAMS OFFER YOU?

New Foundations' training in communication skills, affirmation,
cooperation and conflict resolution is for everyone:

For neighborhoods -- building true community to alleviate the feelings of isolation and fear that so
often lead to violence.

For prisons and jails -- skills in nonviolent conflict resolution help inmates avoid repeating violent crimes in prison and on release into the community.

ALTERNATIVES TO VIOLENCE PROJECT

ALTERNATIVES TO VIOLENCE PROJECT (AVP) (click to view our AVP page!)

"Many of the residents who attended were excited and enthused with their newly found knowledge
over the (AVP) weekend. A lot of the members here have been institutionalized a large part of their
lives and the only way they know to handle their anger is in a violent manner. Your teams teach
everyone, regardless of background, a new way to live."

AVP Workshops have been done with populations as diverse as Bosnian teenagers in a Croatian refugee camp, university students, employees in the workplace, prison inmates, inner-city youth, and homeless women.

While all of New Foundations' AVP Workshops are done in correctional facilities, we welcome and often have participans from the community out side join us for this powerful, transformative program.
Please contact us for a schedule of upcomilng workshops.

ONE-TO-ONE INMATE VISITATION PROGRAM

ONE-TO-ONE VISITATION PROGRAM (click to view our ONE-TO-ONE page!)

Our One-to-One Inmate Visitation Program provides volunteers who meet one-to-one, with prison inmates on a continuing basis. Participants provide support and informal counseling to inmates, and act as liaisons between community resources and prisoners and their families, as well as providing inmates referrals to rehabilitation services (such as drug-and-alcohol-treatment programs).
