In 1991 the Rotary Club of Newtown Square
elected to mark 42 historical sites, built during the 1690's to 1900's in Newtown Township, as part of
their community project. The project was completed in June of 1995.
In order to provide an easy method to locate these various sites, the Rotary, with support of the Newtown Square Historical Preservation Society, published a self-guided tour book titled "Early Beginnings of Newtown Square & Self-Guided Tour of Historic Sites". This book contains information about the marked sites along with information of an additional 20 unmarked sites from the same era.
