We Need Your Help
 
The Newtown Health District needs volunteers like you to ensure that we are ready to respond to any emergency.  Both medical and non-medical volunteers are needed for many different positions.  Your services will help us in the event of a mass vaccination clinic or mass dispensing clinic.  The positions for each are listed below.  Please review them and if you feel that you would be able to volunteer, please fill out the form below.  You can also download this form for fax or mail.  This form is not a committment on your part.  We will put you into our database for volunteers and contact you should your need arise.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email us. 

Medical Volunteers
 
Medical volunteers consist of the medical professionals from a variety of certifications.  These include doctors, nurses, EMTs, paramedics, veterinarians, pharmacists, and many others.  The jobs for these positions in a Mass Vaccination Clinic are listed below.
 
Triage - Assessment and direction of ill patients
Medical Screeners - Review patients history and answer any questions
Physician Evaluators - Examine and treat ill patients (also counseling)
Vaccinators / Assistants - Administer or dispense vaccinations or medications.
Mediation Prep - Prepare medication or vaccination for use
Exit Review  - Answer any questions about disease or medication
Mental Health - Provide assitance for anyone experiencing mental health issues.

Non-Medical Volunteers
 
Non-medical personnel can serve in a variety of positions and need no special qualifications (unless noted).  These people will provide a support service staff for the clinics.  The positions for these volunteers are below.
 
Forms / Info Packet Distribution - Disseminate information to potential vacciness
Video Orientation - Run video regarding clinic and emergency type
Data Entry - Enter clinic information into databases and keep records
                     (Basic computer, MS Office knowledge needed)
Float Staff - Fill in as needed or help with handicapped people
IT - Assist with setting up/maintaining computers and databases
       (Thorough knowledge of IT required)
Translators - Translate for non-english speaking people
                       (Note: Would only be called if the need arises)
Phone / Info Desk - Answer basic questions about the clinic
Refreshements - Prepare and serve food for volunteers
Day Care - Provide day care for volunteer's children/families
