ACEC California
is a 50 plus year-old, nonprofit association of private consulting engineering and land surveying firms. As a statewide organization,
we are dedicated to enhancing the consulting engineering and land surveying professions, protecting the general public and
promoting use of the private sector in the growth and development of our state. Our members provide services for all phases
of planning, designing, and constructing projects. Member services include civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical and
mechanical engineering and land surveying for all types of public works, residential, commercial and industrial projects.
APWA is an international
educational and professional association of public agencies, private sector companies, and individuals dedicated to providing
high quality public works goods and services. Originally chartered in 1937, APWA is the largest and oldest organization of
its kind I the world, with headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri, an office in Washington, D.C., and 64 chapters throughout
North America. APWA provides a forum in which public works professionals can exchange ideas, improve professional competency,
increase the performance of their agencies and companies, and bring important public works related topics to public attention
in local, state, and federal arenas.

Society of Women Engineers
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE), founded in 1950, is a not-for-profit educational and service organization. SWE is
the driving force that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career aspiration for women. SWE empowers women to succeed
and advance in those aspirations and be recognized for their life-changing contributions and achievements as engineers and
leaders.
The San Buenaventura Section was charted in 2002. The section is comprised of engineers from Ventura and Santa Barbara
Counties. Regular monthly meetings give members an opportunity to network and continue their professional development. The
section also participates in a number of outreach programs for girls in K-12 grade.
MISSION STATEMENT: “Encourage women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, provide support
and camaraderie among women in the engineering field, and expand the image of engineers as a positive force in the community."
