Creating an Abstract Animation
Abstract animations are easy and fin to create. The mere fact that they are abstract allows you to experiment with the various tools in your digital toolbox... without becoming distracted by realism.
Begin by creating a freeform object... any abstract shape or form will do. Add a perspective drop shadow to your object.
Don't flatten your form , keep it as an object (i.e, don't merge it with the image background). Save the object you created.
When you start to create your animation, use three 20° rotated images of your abstract object (created from your original saved object and saved as individual objects) as the artwork for your frames.
Add an image transition effect to the animation frames, for example, a water effect.
Add a canvas effect to each of your animation frames using images you have on hand. Change the color and size of the animation frames. Add a few special effects.
Better yet, free-form paint the animation frames. Have fun creating... put your digital tools to the test! You'll be surprised what you can create...
Note: All the animated examples were created to play slowly so the frames would be viewable.Images and text © 2003 Sharon Silvia
