Join us for a weekend in 1944!
The Mid Atlantic Air Museum's World War II Weekend has become the largest, best-attended and most unique
commemoration of its kind in the nation. What began as the recreation of a WW II airfield has grown to encampments representing
the European and Pacific Theatres of War, an extensive home front display, more than 70 period aircraft, 200 vehicles and
over a thousand living history re-enactors and entertainers.
This event draws thousands of people and the Reading
Civil Air Patrol squadron is tasked to find them all a place to park! Duties also include Flight Line perimeter watch and
some aircraft escort. Everyone who arrives will be put to work but also receive plenty of time to explore the WWII area.
The
Activity begins on the morning of June 5 (Friday) and goes until the afternoon of June 7 (Sunday). All help is appreciated,
especially on Friday and/or Sunday. All three days are very busy, but Friday and Sunday are the lowest staffed days.
Capt. McCutcheon will bivouac, so Jesse Jones cadets will be able to camp on the Reading squadron's
grounds.
Civil Air Patrol Mission Statement To serve America by performing Homeland Security and humanitarian missions for our communities, states, and nation;
developing our country's youth; and educating our citizens on the importance of air and space power.
