The sky is too big.
The sky is too big.
My voice leaps breathless within the drone
of a thousand wings, each flutter
a prayer for life, ever-lasting offspring.
In moments I am jealous of their desire,
while yours shudders to earth beneath
the impressions of a thousand unkind whispers.
For now - you let the openness act as a wall.
From here, I keep faith with life for your promise.
Children and parents, these are masks,
worries and fears, these are mere reflections
of missing you, ripples within wonder.
I will let the sky be too big,
I will let the breezes prowl across
the open spaces.
