This is the middle section of our Home Theater Center containing the DVD Player and the Audio / Video Receiver.

This is our Sony DVP-NS999ES DVD Player.

We purchased the Sony DVP-NS999ES DVD player from The Good Guys in Bellingham, Washington. This ended up being a real 'Gem' of a purchase for our Home Theater System. It has a much better picture than our older Denon 1500 DVD player. We like having the SACD feature. The SACDs sound absolutely GREAT! Of course we had to purchase six AudioQuest VIPER interconnect cables to hook up the SACD. We use AudioQuest YIQ-3 Component cables for video and an AudioQuest Optilink-3 (Toslink) for audio. Too bad Sony is stuck on SACD technology and won't include DVD Audio in their products.

We also purchased the ESP (Extra Service Protection) Program, a five-year service program. The ESP Policy has been a mixed blessing. We took the DVD player in for a 'cleaning' after one year of use and 'The Service Department' did replace some items that I didn't even know were broken. When I purchased the ESP policy from The Good Guys I was told it would take a week to get an item back from being cleaned / repaired. Then I brought the DVD player in to be cleaned and I was told it would take two weeks to get it back. When I called to check on the progress of the DVD player after two weeks, I was told it would take four to six weeks to get it back. Lesson learned: Get it in writing! Keep a back-up DVD Player.

Sony DVP-NS999ES DVD / SACD Player

This is our B&K AVR-507 Audio Video Receiver.

We purchased the B&K AVR-507 from Harvey Simmons at Magnolia Audio Video. This REALLY ended up being the 'Gem' in our Home Theater System. We originally went in to purchase a Denon AVR-5803, but at the last moment, we asked Harvey what he would purchase. He turned our attention to the B&K AVR-507 and it has proved to be a GREAT machine. THANKS HARVEY! I'm also happy that it is made in the USA, Nebraska, none-the-less. We've discovered a whole new realm to 'video watching' since getting this unit. There is a bit of a learning curve to setting it up, but once you understand what is being asked of you, it's a GREAT system.
