UND Celebration - 2008 The club will be holding its annual UND Celebration this year on July 1st, from 6-9 PM, and its looks to be a special celebration this year promising a great time with great food and an outstanding speaker. We are honored this year to have Chuck Lennon, Executive Director of the Alumni Association and Associate Vice President of University Relations, as our guest speaker. Chuck’s last visit with us was when our club was first founded and now he’s back to celebrate the anniversary of our club’s founding. All who have met Chuck know that he is a dynamic speaker and has led Our Lady’s Alumni Association to be the best in the nation. You’ll want to be there to hear from Chuck. Thanks to Erin Muldoon, our club’s Young Alumni Coordinator, we have a wonderful venue and fantastic menu this year. Our Celebration will be held at Cyn Shea’s, located at 415 Church Street, Huntsville, AL 35801. The menu that Cynthia and her Chef have created is top-notched and not to be missed. Cynthia, Chef and their staff will be serving the following menu of heavy hors d'oeuvres: Rosemary Crusted Pork Tenderloin Carved on Location Offered with Cyn Shea's Own Fresh Baked Yeast Rolls Accompanied by an Extra Helping of Cyn Shea’s Famous Rosemary-Mint Mustard Hearts of Palm Chicken Rolls Roasted Chicken Breast Surrounds Delicate Heart of Palm Sweet Roasted Peppers & Fresh Spinach Large Seasoned Shrimp Served from a pewter boat With House-made Sauce for dipping Maple Glazed Apricots Stuffed with Almonds Wrapped in Crisp Applewood Smoked Bacon Cool Chunky Antipasto Salad Olives Artichoke hearts Hearts of palm Grape tomatoes, Salami & Pepperoni Italian pesto sauce Sun dried Tomatoes Roasted Pepper Fresh Basil Pesto and Feta		What a Combination! Spread it over: Crisp Homemade Tortilla Wedges Chocolate Truffles Coffee Bar Enjoy Homemade Chocolate Truffles & Candies, Miniature Chocolate Pecan Tassies, Homemade Cheesecakes Green Mountain Roaster’s Gourmet Coffee A Cash Bar will also be available but is not included in the ticket price. We will also be presenting our club’s awards and providing an update on our club’s summer and fall activities. This looks to be a great night and we know that you’ll want to join the rest of the club in our Celebration. Tickets this year are $30 each to cover the cost of our celebration and you can RSVP to Sonnie Hereford (256-541-2530) to reserve your tickets. Costs are payable in advance to David Tarkowski or payable at the event itself. Please be sure to make any checks payable to Notre Dame Club of Northern Alabama. This will be a great night of celebration of Our Lady’s University, our local ND Family and anniversary of our club’s founding with an outstanding speaker. Please plan to attend this special event!

Alumni School Coordinator Needed! Our club is in desperate need of a club member to take on the responsibility of alumni school coordinator. This position helps represent the university at local college fairs, becomes the local point of contact to admitted students as they get ready to attend Notre Dame and helps in planning the annual student sendoff. Training and guidance on the best - and worst - tactics used by alumni clubs in supporting the Admissions Office are available from the Alumni Association and the university provides all required supplies for college fairs. Please consider this very needed position to be the first face of the University to prospective students and the first of the Notre Dame Family to greet our incoming Notre Dame Family members. Membership In order to conform with the University's fiscal year, we are changing our fiscal year to start on July 1, therefore, your 08-09 dues are due next month. This year, we will be providing membership cards to all dues paying members. Dues are $20 for those who want to receive their newsletter announcement by e-mail and $25 for those who want theirs sent in the mail		Football Ticket Raffle Once again, we are holding a ticket raffle in support of our Club's Scholarship Fund. This year's game is Michigan and we are offering a chance at two tickets at a price of $5 each or 6 for $25. We will be selling the chances at the UND Celebration and the Student Send off. Tickets Remaining For Purdue Game There are still tickets remaining from the Club's allotment for the Purdue game on September 27. Take advantage of group seating for a large group or for sitting with your ND friends from Northern Alabama. Cost is $95 per ticket.
