ABOUT ME
After graduating by sheer luck from Reed College in Portland, Oregon, I came to New York to pursue a Master's degree
in poetry (yes, poetry) at NYU. Shortly thereafter, due to a temporary slowdown in the poetry industry, I became a Caseworker
for New York City's Division of AIDS services (this was back in the days when either the virus or the AZT would kill people
within a matter of months). After six years of working in various capacities with people with HIV/AIDS, I met and married
my husband, Lorenzo (a photographer); five years later my son, Alessandro (an angel, for the most part), was born.
After three years as a mother-in-training, I received my first assignment as a travel writer.
Since then, my articles, travel stories, and photography have appeared in Coastal Living, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel,
Delta Sky, Continental Magazine, Big Apple Parent, South Florida Parenting, ASPCA Animal Watch, European Homes and Gardens,
and other publications.
I now live in Hoboken, New Jersey with Lorenzo, Alessandro, my stepson Nicco, a dog, five doves, and a triplegic pigeon
named Cleo. I continue to believe that I must have been an exemplary person in some past life to be so lucky in this one.
