Our destination Dec. 13-21, 2003

In 2003, we decided to take a relaxing and easy trip to Mexico. The Caribbean Sea was something we had always wanted to experience. Now, we want more!
We thought eight days of snorkelling would be satisfying, but we had to be happy with five. It was too stormy for two days. The ruins were amazing and we would recommend a visit to everyone possible.
The Yucatan had it all, but sadly, it was too far away for our short visit. Still learning the hard way, but had a great time anyways.

New Orleans! 2003

Eating was the highlight! Sorry, no pictures of that.

We really took it easy, and just walked around taking in the sights and sounds and smells. It was a very quiet weekend in New Orleans.

The weather gave us all kinds of variations, from hot and sticky, to SF style cool and clear, with a raging storm in the middle.

I actually felt rested upon our return home.

New Orleans is the closest way to leave the country without actually leaving.

Recommeded Eating In New Orlean:

ACME Oyster Bar; best to wait and sit at the bar!

Brennan's; go for the Banana's Foster, it is around the corner from the Acme

Praline Connection; serious soul food, awesome ribs

Camilia's; for the cheeseburgers and ambience

Sbisa's; on the fancy side, but won't break the bank. Been around for a long time. Great atmosphere, old french feel.

Circle Bar; Happy Hour  and more great company

Update: the Voodoo Bar has replaced the Shrine to Marie Laveux with Slot machines. BooHoo.
