MAY 2003
Off to a slow start this year. Weather was horrible and unfriendly to young plant starts and seeds.
The East side did not get tilled this year. I decided to leave some plants in place, and just dig up where I wanted new
plants.

Last year, if we went to the garden, it was all about working, standing, or picking food.
At the request of Ian for some place to sit while I worked, I figured the shadiest part of the West side could be sacrificed
for relaxation.
I picked up the scrap marble at a fabricator who was about to dump it at a very expensive rate. She was happy to give
me all I could fit in the Focus.

We had to use three different types of ground cover. As a day passes, the sun hits the ground in three distinct sections
giving a very specific intensity of exposure required for certain plants. Baby Tears and some Corsican Mint in the back shadiest
area, Scottish Moss in the half/half area, and Isotoma Blue Star Creeper in the full sun area. You can see the Scottish moss
getting fried closest to the path.
