PLEASE NOTE: The 1999 directories were compiled in January of 1999, and all information was as accurate as possible at that time. Descriptions of schools' philosophies, parent comments, and other qualitative information will still be of great help for the 1999/2000 application year, but you will need to verify possible changes in quantitative information such as tuition, dates of open houses and tours, etc. The next School Directories will be published in the Spring of 2000.

Preschool Directory	This directory offers information on over 50 Berkeley/Albany/ Oakland area preschools. Each school was visited by a NM in order to gather information regarding price, type of program, admission requirements, vacation schedules and facility. The directory can help you narrow the choices of preschools to those which fit your needs best.
Public Elementary School Directory	The current public school directory contains descriptions of Berkeley public elementary schools and West Contra Costa County elementary schools. We hope to add Oakland schools if volunteers come forward to work on the next edition. The information was gathered by NM volunteers who visited the schools and interviewed administrators and parents. The directory also has general information about the Berkeley public school district, such as the approach to curriculum.
Private Elementary School Directory	This directory contains facts and descriptive information on 20 private elementary schools in the East Bay Area, as well as comments from NMs task force members who have visited each school. Interviews with school parents supplement the quantitative information to give you a feel for the school. The schools included are: Archway, Aurora, Bentley, Berkeley Montessori, Berkwood Hedge, Black Pine Circle, Crestmont, East Bay French-American School (Ecole Bilingue), East Bay School for Girls, East Bay Waldorf, Elmwood, Head-Royce, Park Day, Prospect-Sierra, Redwood Day, School of the Madeleine, St. Paul's, Tehiyah, Walden, and Windrush.

Prices include postage and handling. Please specify which directory you are ordering, and whether you are a member of Neighborhood Moms. Allow two weeks for handling. If you have any questions about your order, please call the NMs phone line at (510) 527-6667.

If you wish to join Neighborhood Moms to take advantage of the membership prices, please include a separate check for $20 for a six month membership or $35 for one year. Membership also entitles you to attend the Neighborhood Moms school information events for free.
