Neighborhood Moms (NMs) is an independent, all-volunteer organization which provides neighborhood and community forums to support and educate children and their parents with regard to issues of parenting and early childhood emotional, physical and social welfare and development.
NMs has a membership of more than 900 families, most of whom who live in Berkeley, Albany, Kensington, El Cerrito, and North Oakland, California. If you live elsewhere, there may be another organization like Neighborhood Moms in your area.
New members and ideas are always welcome. Members receive a monthly newsletter, containing parenting articles, a calendar of events and activities, support group and play group listings, babysitting and classified ads. Members are welcome to participate in any general group and in any subgroup activities. Prospective members may attend our monthly social and one other event before deciding to join.
NMs receives some funds from newsletter advertisers, but is primarily supported by member dues and by the energy of its volunteers. Memberships are $35.00 for one year and $20 for six months. Make checks payable to Neighborhood Moms, P.O. Box 8597, Berkeley, CA 94707.
