Tokyo Babylon: Song Author's Ramblings "Scribblings," the writer thinks. "The word 'scribblings' is an interesting-sounding word...." Well, as you have read through this story and having gotten as far as the author's notes without quitting, I feel I must congratulate you. I hope you enjoyed the story. The Japanese contained in the story is relatively simple (I wrote it: it has to be), and if you can't understand it, odds are even that you know someone who can. The kanjis of Midori's name were explained during the course of the story, so I won't bother to re-hash those. And for anyone who caught it, yes, the nickname "Mi-chan" in Ending 3 is a slight reference to the Miyuki-chan in Wonderland manga. It is also the only concious reference I made in this story... unconcious ones may abound. This story was started when I decided to write something that showed Seishirou and Subaru involved in a _sexual_ relationship earlier, as opposed to the actual (we assume; one can never tell about CLAMP) platonic one. It grew from there into something requiring some slight amount of effort on my part. The multiple endings are simply several of the best ones that occured to me; I honestly don't know which one is the 'real' ending, so they are all 'real'. I had three editors for this story: Eagle/Sionna, Kanoe/Debra, and RR/Roy. I owe thanks to all of them. If anyone wants to know how much of an H-chan I really am, write to me and ask me to put you on my mailing alias for indiscriminated fanfics, from the purest I write to the smuttiest. I have been a fanfiction author for nearly two years now, and my writings include (in addition to Tokyo Babylon) X, Yuu*Yuu*Hakushou, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, Ranma 1/2, and a Fushigi Yuugi story that is in-progress. You can see I tend to write on more obscure (to general American audiences, anyway) animes. I currently live in Southern California with two parents, a younger sister, a cat, and several plants whimsically named after anime characters. I am on IRC occasionally as either Peridot, Nataku, or Nokoru, if you ever happen to catch me. In real life, I have a personality that goes from being as polite as Subaru's to being highly depressed to being totally genki (though not nearly as annoying as Hikaru, I hope). I try to keep away from the depression as much as I can, for everyone else's sake. That's why I write. I plan to try my hand at an English major and be a professional writer, as I have been writing for as long as I can remember, and it is the one thing I am good at. Well, that's not true. I'm good at decorating and crafts, too. The titles of this story are all songs that in some way, shape, or form related to the story. It is also an example of my musical tastes. I can stand almost any kind of music, but I have my favorites, as demonstrated. I think I am currently one of two anime fanfiction authors (the other being Eagle/Sionna, as we started writing together, and our first work was a co-written Yuu*Yuu*Hakushou novel) who uses music extensively in stories. If you liked this story, or if you didn't, please write and let me know. My e-mail address is nataku@earthlink.net. Arigatou!
