An Invitation:
"If you have been longing for a way to get
out of the boat and step out in faith, then you are asked to prayerfully consider participating in a mission trip to Honduras."
Nancy Schmitz
Nancy Schmitz, a family practice doctor and a member of Peace, is organizing a
medical mission trip from Peace to Honduras this August 13-21. Nancy has been on two previous mission trips to Honduras,
and she has spoken previously to the congregation on the tremendous impact on her life and her faith. "You cannot go
on a mission trip and come away unchanged."
The trip will be to support the work of the Gerizim Church in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
The church has a vibrant worship life and small groups ministry and is also active in the community. The church operates
a school on the church property, provides lunches for childeren through feeding stations throughout Tegucigalpa,
and also runs a medical clinic. Pastor Roberto Ventura, shepherd and founder of Gerizim, has seeded over 100 churches
throughout Honduras and Central America.
"We will come alongside of the Gerizim community and support their work of
ministering to the poor and proclaiming the Word by conducting medical 'brigades'. Over the course of a week, the team
is able to provide basic medical care and free medicines for 500-700 people in Tegucigalpa and surrounding enclaves.
We have the opportunity to partcipate in worship services on Sunday at Gerizim, as well as have daily time for team discussion,
prayer, and worship."
